About

deborah-1-walk-together.jpg

My name is Deborah Alsina and I have the privilege of being the Chief Executive of Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer, a newly merged charity working in all four nations of the UK.  Our mission is clear we are determined to save lives, improve the quality of life and provide support to all those affected by bowel cancer.

I originally started this blog to accompany my fundraising for Bowel Cancer UK’s work with younger (under 50) bowel cancer patients as part of our Never Too Young campaign, but it’s subsequently changed into a more general blog about our work and my personal commitment to saving lives from bowel cancer.

For me, every life matters and we are currently losing too many to a disease which is preventable, treatable and curable. I am tired of being passive, of listening to heart breaking stories and feeling powerless. So I’m taking action both personally and professionally.  I hope you will join me.
